This is a Basic Pistol Firearms training class by a Florida Class "K" Firearms & NRA Certified Instructor. Learn rules for safe gun handling, pistol parts and operation, shooting fundamental. Included: 3 OR MORE hours range training, range instruction, range fee and more. ; Your own pistol is encouraged, but a training pistol(s) and approximately 20 rounds ammunition for live fire. Although it is best to have your own eye & ear protection some will be available for use. Successful students receive Certificate of Completion, Florida Division of Licensing Application Packet for Concealed Weapon or Firearm License. Step up your pistol skill training:
Morning Session (0900 - 1200 hrs) with instruction and practical exercises in range safety & basic firearms review. We then move at the shooter's ability and possible holster work. You will learn to safely draw your pistol, engage multiple targets/threats and move to cover.
Then the second session of the day (1300-1600 hrs) we move to the shoothouse area for home safety & scenario based pistol training.
Although this will be offered for those already familiar with pistols and probably already have their CCW License, a Certificate will be issued which currently meets the requirements for the Florida Concealed Carry License for those for those needing to still apply.
1. $150 for the full day- Morning & Afternoon Sessions. You will need to bring 150 rounds of factory ammo for this option. (Certificate Issued)
Requirements: Your own pistol which meets approval of your Instructor, factory ammunition, eye & ear protection, holster, cover garment.

Course topics include: gun safety rules, proper operation of revolvers and semi-automatic pistols, ammunition knowledge and selection, pistol selection and storage, shooting fundamentals, pistol inspection and maintenance, marksmanship, and shooting range safety. Additionally, students will complete live fire training and a nationally standardized shooting qualification while on the range with an NRA Certified Training Counselor & Instructor. This does include: range fee, NRA Pistol Guide, use of ear & eyes protection & pistols, and ammo, unless you prefer using your own safe firearm with factory manufactored ammunition for the correct caliber.

STEP 5: ON REGISTRATION PAGE: Review, download, print and PRACTICE The pre-course qualification in Appendix 5 will be conducted during the course. (NOTE: a small caliber pistol is recommended for this Pre-Course Qualification) Factory ammunition is required. NO RELOADS.

"Course Description In order to obtain a Class “G” Statewide Firearm License, each applicant must successfully complete the 28-hour initial qualification course.
This course reenforces students WITH FIREARMS/PISTOL EXPERIENCE the basic knowledge and proficiency skills needed to safely handle and shoot a handgun (revolver or semiautomatic pistol). Along with extensive educational material on firearms safety and the mechanical operation of firearms, this course also includes material on various legal aspects of firearms ownership, possession, and use. At the conclusion of the classroom portion of the 28-hour course, an examination will be administered to test the student’s mastery of content. Finally, students will be required to demonstrate proficiency in shooting a handgun by passing the course of fire outlined in this training manual."

Only Class “C,” Class “CC,” Class "D," Class “M,” Class “MA” and Class "MB" licensees are permitted to bear a firearm, and any such licensee who bears a firearm must also have a Class “G” license.
NOTE: YOU MAY TAKE THE CLASS G (ARMED OFFICER) COURSE BEFORE TAKING THE D COURSE BUT YOU WILL NOT BE APPROVED FOR A CLASS G LICENSE UNTIL COMPLETING THE COMPANION CLASS D 42 HOUR UNARMED COURSE.
Upon completion of the classroom portion, you must complete a written examination that covers all of the course content, and pass the exam with a minimum score of 70%.
You will then meet at a firing range facility to perform practical exercises using YOUR HANDGUN & AMMUNITION. The type and caliber of handgun (Semi-automatics one of the following approved calibers - 380, 9MM, 40 Cal, 45 ACP or Revolver 38 caliber or 357 with 38 caliber rounds) with which you be required to qualify. Students are required to show a minimum proficiency Student Handbook and Study Guide Firearms Training Manual of 70% (168 minimum of maximum 240) using B-34 silhouette targets on the basic firearms course of fire.
The QUALIFICATION COURSE FOR INITIAL LICENSURE shall consist of three cycles of 48 rounds each for a total of 144 rounds to be fired (1 practice round and 2 qualification rounds) AT DISTANCES OF 3 YARDS, 7 YARDS AND 15 YARDS.

Hourly Private Lesson with your own Instructor approved Firearm and factory ammunition- Live fire at the Range. Range fee, targets and travel time is included. 2 hour minimum. Shooter provides their own firearm, factory ammo, ear & eye protection. If you desire to try pistols other than your own, just let me know. An additional $39 will be added.
This 9-hour course teaches the knowledge, skills and attitude essential to organizing, promoting and teaching the NRA Basic Personal Protection In the Home course (BIT is an additional 6 Hours)
Prerequisites: Must be an NRA Certified Pistol Instructor. Prior to the course, candidates complete a pre-course questionnaire and demonstrate their firearm background in pre-course assessment exercises (download when you register at NRA Training link .) Select NRA Instructor Basic Personal Protection In The Home Course and locate the Watchman Protection PLUS, Lake Helen location. Then select "CLICK FOR DETAIL".This will allow you to print or download Appendix 6 - NRA INSTRUCTOR TRAINING PROGRAM PRE-COURSE QUALIFICATION allowing you to review and PRACTICE these skills BEFORE ATTENDING your course. Pre-Course Qualification is in ADDITION to the 9 Hour Course.
Description: Course is discipline specific instructor training. Students demonstrate organizational and teaching skills via participation in practical exercises during the course, and complete an instructor certification examination. Students will receive the NRA Basic Personal Protection In The Home Instructor Candidate Packet and NRA Basic Personal Protection In The Home course student packet.THIS IS NOT A BIT INCLUDED COURSE.
This includes the 6 hour BIT course.

NRA Basic Personal Protection In The Home Course
Teaches the basic knowledge, skills, and attitude essential to the safe and efficient use of a handgun for protection of self and family, and to provide information on the law-abiding individual’s right to self-defense.
This is about an eight-hour course. Students provide their own firearm & ammunition (expect to shoot approximately 100 rounds. Students will receive the NRA Guide to the Basics of Personal Protection In The Home handbook, NRA Gun Safety Rules brochure, the Winchester/NRA Marksmanship Qualification booklet, and course completion certificate.
Total for Course is $150.00 with a Pre-Registration DEPOSIT REQUIRED BELOW of $50.
